Why Change Now?

Life is all about changes. Even if you think you live a pretty change-less life, you are mistaken. Have you changed what you eat today? Did you change your outfit three times to find the right one for today? Did you change how you talk to your fellow coworkers? or who you talked to today? Everyone changes ever day. Whether it's buying a new home in a new state or simply changing the coffee creamer in your coffee today.

So why did I change? Why did I, in the midst of a photographers busy season, change my location and the way I do business? Simple, I wanted to. Well maybe it wasn't that simple. In my mind it was a collective gathering of many nights thinking "how can I make my business better and how can I make my clients happier?" Simple, bring my photography to them. Make my business more accessible to them.

So the time came to proceed with this change. One of the hardest decisions I have had to make with my business. It was now or never. Pack up everything I have at my store front studio in downtown Eden Valley and move it home. Now don't get me wrong, I loved having a "get away" place to get work done and get out of the house. But it was time for a change.

Bringing my business home has it's ups and downs. First and foremost, cost. With no overhead cost my pricing can come down for my amazing clients. I am closer to my wonderful kids. I can help with homework more now. We can go for more walks. It doesn't get much better than that. Now don't get me wrong, right now it is definitely a lot of 16 hour work days, even at home. But when winter comes along, I can snuggle up with my kiddos at home and not have to worry about shoveling a parking lot for clients that are coming to visit me. Now I go to them. I bring my business to them in every way. I want to work around your schedule and make this as easy as possible for you.

So change is a good thing. Without it we would each live our boring little lives not knowing what more we could get out of life. So I challenge you to change something today. Whether it's your coffee creamer, how you interact with the new kid at school, or whom to talk to at your office. Do something different today. Take a new bike path, wear something you never thought you could pull off, donate to a charity, say something nice to a bully.  You won't be disappointed.

Lots of Love
